The Piedmontese & Little Stoney Acres Love Story <3

Let us tell you a little about how Little Stoney Acres Farm and Piedmontese cattle came together — it’s a story that’s close to our hearts, quite literally.

When Larry started looking for heart-healthy options for his diet, we discovered something extraordinary: the Piedmontese breed.

Their beef is naturally leaner, lower in cholesterol, and higher in protein compared to traditional beef — perfect for someone who wanted to enjoy flavorful, nutritious meals without compromise.

But there was one problem: we couldn’t find Piedmontese beef anywhere in Ontario. That’s when the idea was born. We decided to bring this incredible breed here ourselves. We imported the cattle, started breeding them, and created a farm where their unique qualities could shine.

The land at Stoney Acres was the perfect match. Its rocky terrain mirrors the slopes of the Piedmont region in northern Italy, where these cattle have thrived for centuries. It felt like everything just clicked — the cattle, the land, and our mission to offer something truly exceptional.

Let's Tell You a Little About Our Land

Our Farm is set on land with a rocky foundation, and while that might sound unusual, it’s actually a big part of what makes our beef so special.

You see, our farm’s terrain mimics the natural environment where the Piedmontese cattle originally come from — the mountainous Piedmont region in northern Italy. There, the cattle roamed nutrient-rich, rugged slopes for generations, which helped shape their incredible flavor and health benefits.

Our land might not be Italy, but it offers the same kind of terrain that lets these remarkable animals thrive.

We’re proud to bring a Little bit of that heritage here to Ontario, combining the natural beauty of our farm with a commitment to raising cattle the right way. Every bite of our beef reflects this connection — a taste that’s as rich in history as it is in flavor.

If you’ve got questions or just want to chat more about what makes Stoney Acres unique, we would love to hear from you.

This isn’t just a farm; it’s a story we’re honored to share with you.

Heart of the Farm

Larry Little

Larry is the founder of Little Stoney Acres and the man who started it all.

A loving father, husband, and dedicated cattle farmer, Larry grew up right here on this land with his three brothers and one sister. Farming is in his blood, but it’s his passion for family and doing things the right way is what drives him every day.

When he and his wife Jess decided to start raising Piedmontese cattle, it wasn’t just about the beef — it was about building something meaningful for their family and community.

Backbone of the Farm

Jess Little

Jess is Larry’s partner in life and in farming.

Jess brings warmth and wisdom to everything she does, whether it’s helping care for the cattle, keeping the farm running smoothly, or making sure everyone is well-fed and happy.

It’s safe to say she’s the glue that holds us all together.

The Next Generation

Isaac Little

Isaac, Larry's son, has been a part of the farm since he could walk. Whether he’s hunting the land or helping with the cattle, he’s always been hands-on and deeply connected to the farm.

He’s the kind of guy who knows every corner of this land like the back of his hand and puts his heart into everything he does.
